The long-anticipated update to the 2010 BTS Pleural Disease Guidelines was published in July 2023. With new evidence-based decision-making algorithms for spontaneous pneumothorax, malignant effusions, pleural infection, and investigation of unilateral pleural effusions, each recommendation is accompanied by a systematic review and metanalysis (where possible).
